The City of Leeds makes its mark on the East London Olympics!
Nope, not yet another Yorkshire medal winner at the 2012 London Olympic Games This is actually a reference to the City of Leeds. That's right, anybody who happens to reside in or has roots in the town are grouped together for reasons that will become apparent. Juxtapose this with the aggrandising of East London as the destination of this years games. Coincidentally the area of London where West Ham are located. The authors proclaimed "team".

The diatribe begins thus;
Animals to a man it seems, even when they are not dragging their knuckles through the turnstiles of football stadiums. How sad that one disgusting yob has embarrassed the entire nation with his beer bottle throwing antics prior to the 100m Final, but how fitting that he should be from Leeds!
And continues fuming;
How proud must the people of the City of Leeds feel today! Never mind the shot, or the discus, or the javelin, Loiners throw beer bottles! Warnock will be signing him up to partner Brown in midfield before you know it - given he can't afford Barton! When people line the streets up and down this land to welcome home their Olympic heroes, the good folk of Leeds can gather outside a magistrate's court and pay homage to their greatest Olympian of 2012, the proud winner of the Gold Medal for being an obnoxious, unsporting twat.
Before breathlessly adding;
Ashley Gill-Webb pleaded not guilty, of course. Poor guy, how was he meant to know that what Leeds fans do as a matter of course, is deemed unacceptable in more civilised areas of the country? ; }
Ah but, it was all a merry jape;
All jesting apart, however, congratulations to the Brownlee boys. Only one was born in Leeds, and both were educated in Bradford, but their achievements today were huge! If only all the good folk of Leeds were educated in fee paying schools eh Mick? Maybe, just maybe, Leeds would then follow the Brownlee example!!!
Or was it?
